Fix Microsoft Teams read receipts not working

Microsoft Teams Desktop Version


  1. Right click on the "Microsoft Teams" icon in the taskbar. 
  2. Click on the option for “Quit.” 
  3. Open File “File Explorer.” 
  4. In the “quick access” section, type out “%appdata%/Microsoft/Teams,” and then press enter. 
  5. Open the “Cache” folder from there. 
  6. Select everything in that folder.
  7. Lastly, right-click on “Delete.” 
  8. Relaunch Microsoft Teams




Microsoft Teams Web Version (Microsoft Edge)- clear the browsing data and cookies

  1. Open your "Microsoft Edge"
  2. Then click on the three horizontal three dots on the right-hand side of the display. 
  3. Click on “History”. 
  4. Then click on the horizontal three dots, from there, click on “Clear browsing data.”  
  5. Select “All time”. 
  6. Lastly, click on “Clear now”.  



Microsoft Teams Web Version (Google Chrome)- clear the browsing data and cookies

  1. Open your "Google Chrome"
  2. Then click on the three vertical dots on the right-hand side of the display. 
  3. Hover over the “History” option and click on “History.” 
  4. From there, click on “Clear browsing data.” 
  5. Navigate over to the “Advanced” section. 
  6. Lastly, select "All time", then click on “Clear data.”
